This is the final stage in the chain of audio production. The software mastering provided at Align Romance gives the final polish; adding excitement, clarity and loudness to your finished piece of work. Utilising the latest software as well as techniques gained from years of experience working in some of the biggest and most famous studios in the UK, each track is worked on with multiband compression, EQ, reverb, phase correction, energy and limiting to create a smooth and full sounding track, that will ensure the best compatibility across most speaker systems.
If you are looking for the analogue warmth so readily available from the pre-digital era, the studio has a fully-serviced all valve Tandberg reel-to-reel tape machine. Using mild tube and tape saturation, we can help give that glow to your mix that is missing from a lot of contemporary music today. To achieve this, we first put the mix through the reel-to-reel player before putting the track back into the computer at the full 24bit/96kHz depth. This mix is then used for the final master. If you are interested in this service, please mention at the start.
As the fundamentals are the same, Align Romance audio production can master across the board for every type of music genre.
TV and radio
As above, but possibly with additional Voiceover and SFX.
Mastering to TV or radio is no different to music but more and more in these fields, standards are becoming more enforced as a result of the “loudness wars”. These “wars” are where adverts compete for consumer’s attention by pushing the perceived loudness of there adverts to stand out more than the commercials on either side. To curb this, most large radio stations and networks now follow the EBU‐R128 and ITU-R BS.1770 (In the UK for stations such as ITV). These limit the total volume using the new LUFS level.
Using the latest software, Align Romance audio productions can master to within these standards, please make this clear if you require this before the commencement of the job.
